Baker Bea Vo is expanding her Butterscotch Bakery brand, as she announces plans to open her second London store on James Street, Marylebone on 15 February.

Split over two floors, the Butterscotch Tea Room will offer both coffee and cakes to-go as well as a more formal upstairs dining area, which will specialise in afternoon and evening tea.

From £28.50, customers can enjoy afternoon tea comprising a selection of sandwiches (from roasted aubergine, romesco and rocket to smoked salmon and herbed mascarpone) and sweet treats including a vegan chocolate mousse pot; butterscotch pudding with sea salt caramel; scones and selection of mini meringues, brownies and madeleines.

Building on the success of her first White City bakery, Vo has also added an “early riser” ‘Poppy Morning Tea’ (£13.50) and evening ‘Jasmin Evening Tea’ deal to the menu.

She said: “I’m so excited to unveil a whole new space for afternoon tea in town. It’s my absolute favourite British tradition, and our take will put a modern spin on it, from the recipes to the aestethic - it’s going to be anything but quintessential.

“I want people to feel like they can come to Butterscotch for a good time, whether it’s a cocktail and a slice of cake or a full blown affair with all the trimmings.”
