Butcombe expands with first Dorset site

Butcombe Brewing Company has purchased its first Dorset-based site, the Castle Inn, as it continues to expand across South West England.

Situated in West Lulworth, the 16th century pub and boutique hotel will be a flagship pub for the company’s 35 strong estate, which it bought from the Halliday family for an undisclosed sum.

As with other Butcombe venues, The Castle Inn will offer a broad food and drinks menu, including Butcombe’s Ashton Press cider, which earned the company ‘National CAMRA Cider and Perry Pub of the Year’ in 2014.

Pubs and inns managing director at Butcombe Brewing Co., Jayson Perfect, said: “The Castle Inn will be a flagship pub for us in Dorset as we expand further into the South West. We’re delighted to have brought such a high-quality pub to strengthen our Butcombe estate and look forward to welcoming the strong following this outlet has into the Butcombe fold.”
