Christie + Co markets Barnes Ma Cuisine
Situated close to Barnes village and Barnes Common, and a stone's throw from the River Thames, the 45-cover restaurant is based on a 1950's French bistro, offering quality regional French cuisine. All realistic offers are being sought for the leasehold interest of the restaurant. The sale of the restaurant is part of a strategic review by owner Jon McClements of his six-strong estate, which features two further Ma Cuisine sites in Kew and Twickenham, the Grill Room British Steakhouse, also in Twickenham, plus his eponymous fine dining restaurant and the Tangine Moroccan restaurant in Kew. The Ma Cuisine Barnes was an ITV London Restaurant Award winner in 2005 and currently holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand. John McClements gained a Michelin star in 2004 for his original eponymous restaurant in Twickenham, which was relaunched as a Ma Cuisine three years ago. Steve Darbon, Director at Christie + Co, said: "John's strategic review of the group will allow him to re-direct his resources on the remaining, highly successful, operations. We are in no doubt that the Barnes restaurant will attract good interest from experienced local operators seeking to snap up a quality site in the heart of this London 'village' type location."
