Pizza delivery company Domino’s has announced that UK like for like sales grew 7.5% in the 52 weeks ended December 25th 2016.

The company has reported an underlying profit before tax of £85.7 million and total UK sales growth of 14%.

Domino’s opened 81 new stores, which is a record number for the company, and is targeting at least 80 new stores in the UK for 2017.

Online now represents 72% of system sales, which is up 21% year on year, and mobile represents 73% of digital sales, up by 31%.

Chief executive officer, David Wild, said: “2016 was another successful year for Domino’s Pizza Group and this performance is reflected in today’s financial results. The UK delivered strong year-on-year growth due to robust like-for-like sales and the opening of 81 new stores.”

In the first nine weeks of 2017, Dominos has opened 11 new stores in the UK and total sales growth is at 8.3%.
