As 2017 gets into full swing and any remnants of Christmas are being torn down, we found lots of great food facts.

A big spoonful of peanut butter can help cure hiccups. Take a big tablespoon and hold it in your mouth for 5-10 seconds then swallow the peanut butter without chewing. The amount of peanut butter is optimal for disrupting swallowing and breathing patterns.

There’s many different interpretations on whether a pregnant woman should drink alcohol or remain tee-total. Well, some believe beer is the way forward. Doctors say that beer is a great source of B vitamins, which can help guard against birth defects of the brain, cells, heart and spine. Just a single bottle can provide 12.5% of the recommended requirements.

More fresh mangoes are eaten around the world every day than any other fruit.

Aside from not being good for weight loss – if a recent study is to be believed – fizzy drinks containing artificial sugars are bad for the environment. It takes between 150 and 300 litres of water to make just one litre.

Did you know that the Pistachio nut has as much protein as an egg! A serving (1 oz or 49 nuts) has 160 calories and 6 grams of protein which provides the same protein as an egg.

Drinking chilled drinks can help you lose weight – though only by a little bit. Diet Coke, for example, has less than a calorie in it, but your body burns about 18 calories bringing it up to body temperature inside you.
