20/02/2017 - 10:05
A comprehensive survey conducted by Great British Chefs, the online food publisher, as part of the Great British foodie white paper, has revealed what British foodies like to eat, how they cook and what inspires them.
Written by Isabel Finch
In the survey of over 5,000 British foodies, it was revealed that foodies have 100 dishes in their repertoire and regularly cook 44 different dishes. 91% of those surveyed admit they eat everything and everything with 37% having cooked ostrich, 26% having cooked kangaroo and 13% having cooked crocodile.
Ollie Lloyd, CEO of Great British Chefs, said: “Britain is one of the most multicultural places in the world, and our hunger for new ingredients, cuisines and techniques completely reflects this.”
The majority of foodies (82 %) turn to cookbooks most as recipe inspiration. 85% seek inspiration online and 76% find inspiration from holidays abroad.
