Jimmy Garcia to bring ‘snow globe’ dining to London’s Southbank this winter

04/10/2017 - 07:00
Chef and pop-up restaurateur, Jimmy Garcia is bringing his ‘Lodge on the River’ pop-up to London’s SouthBank Centre this winter, featuring a riverside bar, first floor restaurant and private dining snow globes.

Set to open 10 November, the ‘alpine foodie retreat’ – as described by Garcia – will offer a selection of grab-and-go items from the ‘Winter Grill’ downstairs bar, including a raclette burger, wild boar and apple hot dog, and ‘aspen fries’ with parmesan and truffle oil.

There will also be a “traditional” Alpine fondue menu available in the tickets-only upstairs restaurant, ‘The Refuge’ and four private dining snow globes. This will comprise: mulled wine cured gravalax salmon, game terrine on brioche toast and smoked goat’s curd starters to share, followed by a fondue with new potatoes, bread, a selection of charcuterie and salad, as well as a sharing option of Côte de Boeuf in the domes.

With views overlooking The Thames, ‘Lodge on the River’ will also come with a heated outside bar serving hot toddies and cocktails, with fire-pits and a canopy roof to keep guests warm.

Open from 10 November – 31 December, more information and bookings are available via https://jimmyslodge.com/.
