Mums prefer dining out to children’s cooking on Mother’s Day

Mums prefer being taken out for a meal on Mother’s Day to their children’s cooking, according to new research from restaurant booking platform, OpenTable.

The survey revealed that the dish of choice is a roast dinner, with afternoon tea coming in a close second.
Adrian Valeriano, vice president, Europe, said: “We at OpenTable believe that mothers should be celebrated all year round, but Mother’s Day is a great time to get the whole family around the restaurant table.
“We definitely advocate for leaving the culinary creations to the experts and with hundreds of fantastic restaurants to choose from there’s no excuse to not take your mother out this year.”
The research also revealed that families are five times more likely to dine out on Mother’s Day than they are on Father’s Day. Also, one in four children treat both parents out to a meal on their respective days.
