My Place Soho, the Berwick Street café, has launched a scone-brioche hybrid, the schioche.

The original schioche, which has been developed by Speciality Breads, can be treated like a scone with cream, berries and jam, while the sicilian lemon & poppy seed version offers the option to be toasted and topped with savoury treats such as crabmeat, scallops or chorizo.

Dini Shahini, co-owner of My Place Soho, said: “We love innovative new products so it was a real pleasure to be one of the first in the UK to get their hands on the scioche. As soon as we saw and tasted it, we knew it was going to be a winner so we can’t wait to officially launch our two dazzling dishes to the masses.”

My Place Soho is one of only three venues in the UK to exclusively have the schioche. The others include The Blue Ivy boutique hotel in Essex and the Turner Contemporary Café in Kent.
