New concept meatball restaurant Curveball to launch in Balham, London

Curveball, a new concept meatball restaurant that features flavours from around the world, is to launch its first restaurant in Balham, London.

The restaurant, which will have capacity for 38 covers over two floors, will open on April 26th.
The restaurant is co-owned by Hannah Pemberton, author of recipe blog ‘The Kitchen Alchemist’, and Paul Harris, former chief financial officer of Liberty.
Pemberton said: “Meatballs are eaten the world over - from Middle Eastern koftas to Indonesian bakso. Paul and I wanted to create a restaurant that highlighted their versatility and not stick to traditional flavours.
“Food is how we travel, it’s why we travel. And it brings people together. That’s why we set up Curveball. To combine those experiences and flavours and to share them and our obsession for food with others.”
The menu will feature small plates including the ‘bomba’, crispy coated chorizo croquettes, and larger plates including ‘the mothership’, beef chuck and parmesan meatballs in a four-hour short-rib ragu.
The restaurant’s cocktail list has been created with the help of David Beatty, brand ambassador for vodka brand Ketel One.
