Punch began its annual pub roadshow in Chester yesterday (12 September) as it started on its way to seven locations across the UK where it will be hosting activities to support Punch publicans build their businesses.

The roadshow, which visits Edinburgh tomorrow (14 September) gives Punch's pub landlords and managers the chance to meet with suppliers from the food, drink and entertainment industries.

Each event features national brewers’ stands with drinks initiatives, which Punch says are designed to increase sales, cut costs and premiumise drink offerings.

A voucher booklet that offers publicans over 30 deals and exclusive discounts from a variety of suppliers will be handed out for a fifth year. According to Punch, on average last year, pubs saved £1,500 through on-the-day deals and support.

The 2017 voucher booklet features a prize draw per roadshow that gives attendeees the chance to win £500 off their drinks order.

The roadshows consist of a number of business building seminars for publicans including the ‘Perfect Spirit Serve’ presented by Diageo and ‘Maximising Sport’ by Carling.

“Every year our intention is to surpass our publicans’ expectations,” said Steve Dando, who became interim CEO of Punch earlier this month following the resignation of Duncan Garrood, who left the company after it was acquired by Patron Company.

He added: “The 2017 tour is no exception and the levels of energy and passion from the Punch teams and suppliers is ever present.

“We look forward to welcoming all publicans, whether their pub is remaining with Punch or they operate a Star Pubs and Bars venue with our support, we are committed to helping them deliver outstanding experiences for their customers and hope they have a fantastic and worthwhile day.”

The next locations and dates for the roadshow are Edinburgh on Thursday 14th, Newcastle on Tuesday 19th, Bristol on Thursday 21st, London on Tuesday 26th, Leeds on Thursday 28th September and finally Coventry on Tuesday 3rd October.
