Revolucion de Cuba to open Birmingham bar

Revolutions Bars Group has announced the opening of its first Revolucion De Cuba in the West Midlands.

The Birmingham bar will bring the Revolucion brand up to 15 sites across the UK, all of which are located outside of London.

As its name suggests, the concept is driven by premium Cuban rums, tropical cocktails, a food menu which takes inspiration from across Latin America, along with live music.

Located in the former Birmingham Law Library on Temple Street, the 112-cover, two floor property is scheduled to open in March.

The building features a 1940s Cuban-inspired, vibrant interior reflecting the brand’s Havana style, with fans, velvet curtains, chandeliers and vintage furniture.

The ground floor includes a traditional bar counter, antique tiles, rattan chairs and decorative railings, whilst the first floor bar retains the former library’s original bookshelves and large skylight.

Myles Doran, commercial director of Revolution Bars Group comments: “We look forward to bringing rich Cuban culture to this vibrant city and turning up the heat Havana-style for everyone to enjoy.

“We’ll be welcoming and training nearly 80 new team members and investing around £1.1 million to ensure the first Revolución de Cuba in the West Midlands hits the ground running.”

Revolution Bars recently reported that group revenue rose by more than 10% year-on-year for the first half of its financial year.
