The Seafood Pub Company, the inn, restaurant and pub group, has acquired The Fleece, Yorkshire, as part of its expansion drive.

Joycelyn Neve, managing director, Seafood Pub Company, said: We are incredibly pleased to announce our second acquisition of 2017. We are proud to be able to add another fantastic venue to our SPC family.”

The company will re-open the grade-two listed pub in Addingham village, West Yorkshire, in May after a £1.2 million development programme.

Antony Shirley, executive chef, Seafood Pub Company, said: “We are all really excited and cannot wait to open. We’ve got a fantastic brigade of chefs who will work with the locals to create menus which include all of their favourites, and of course our signature seafood specials.”

The 5,000 sq ft pub venue has capacity for over 250 covers across its main restaurant, private dining, function room, and outside terrace.

Damaged in a fire in 2015, the pub will be fully renovated and will maintain its original exterior.

The pub is leased from Punch Taverns and will be the first Seafood Pub Company venue to open in Yorkshire, which will be followed by The Red Lion pub in Harrogate, which will open in summer.

The Seafood Pub Company, established in 2010, has 12 sites across Lancashire and Yorkshire. The company has a turnover exceeding £11 million.
