Dumpling specialists The Ugly Dumplings have secured their first permanent site in Carnaby, London on Newburgh Street.

The street food operator has collaborated with investment partner Philipp Chaykin to develop a new menu, featuring a brunch offering and a global twist on dumpling recipes.

Ping Wong, founder of The Ugly Dumplings, has experience at the Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, as well as in the street food markets in Camden Lock and Dinerama in Shoreditch.

Philipp Chaykin at Ugly Dumplings, said: “We are very excited to open our first concept restaurant in Carnaby, in the heart of central London. With high profile openings for Din Tai Fung and The Dumpling Shack on the horizon, 2017 is set to be the year of the dumpling. However, we are proud to debut this unique concept with a place of its own in the market.”

Leisure property agency Shelley Sandzer secured the site for The Ugly Dumplings.
