American burger chain TGI Fridays has partnered with British Comic Relief to raise over £100,000 for the charity.

Donating money from every chief burger, strawberry fields mocktail and kids strawberry slush purchased, Fridays staff also participated in sponsored walks, sports matches, cycles and eating challenges – raising a total of £101,679.

The money earned will go towards projects sponsored by Comic Relief – one being the Lambeth-based charity, Oasis, which provides children a safe place to escape from the chaos of everyday life, with the hope of decreasing gang involvement.

Head of culture at TGI Fridays UK, Dean Cheetham, said: “We’re so proud to be a key partner with Comic Relief, and it’s been a pleasure for the Fridays Family to come together and raise money for some really worthwhile causes. The results have been astounding, and we hope to work together again soon to deliver more of the same for some more great charities across the UK."
