Thirsty Brits get a taste for Kopparberg cider as heatwave boosts sales by 131%

Popular cider brand Kopparberg has reported soaring sales as Britain continues to bask in its first heatwave since 2006.

Sales in the first half of July were up 131% compared to the same period last year.

Kopparberg is also experiencing its most successful festival season following the development of a new bar installation. Dubbed the Kopparberg ‘happenings’, in keeping with its recent social media campaign, the cider brand has attended the Field Day and Parklife festivals.

Rob Calder, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said the sales increase was a sign that cider has become a symbol of summer: “British summertime has become synonymous with cider and this is clearly reflected in the sales boost we’ve seen this month. With temperatures soaring above 30 degrees over the past two weeks there’s been nothing more satisfying than seeing an ice cold
Kopparberg in the hands of just about everyone and anyone. Long may it continue.”

Kopparberg’s outdoor campaign will continue to promote the best-selling Mixed Fruit and Strawberry & Lime flavours by running digital screens in major cities including London, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow.
