VendEase launches alcohol vending machine in UK hotels

An alcohol vending machine has just been launched in the UK by manufacturer and provider, VendEase, fit with age control software and a debit/credit card payment system.

Claiming to “call time on queues at the bar,” the new machine only needs a power outlet for installation, and “all sales generated will go directly to the venue” who pay a £300 monthly rental fee, including maintenance and a customer helpline.

Chief executive Dave Berman added: “It's an additional way for the company to sell alcohol to their customers and stock it accordingly, setting their own price point.

"This automated way of buying alcohol really appeals to the whole ‘grab and go' culture. It's a very state of the art machine with a robotic delivery system, which lets customers buy a quick drink whenever they're out and about. For businesses and consumers, the VendEase machine offers the ideal time saving solution."

It also comes fit with a piece of software that allows for age control, so the machine won't operate unless a four digit PIN code is entered. The fee is then “charged directly to the customer's debit or credit card” said Berman.

Having launched in central London hotels this month, including the Strand Palace Hotel, the company hopes to “expand to other venues nationwide” in coming months.
