Staff and customers at J D Wetherspoon have raised £14 million for the pub operator’s chosen charity CLIC Sargent, the cancer charity for young people and their families, since its partnership began in 2002.

Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin, said: “When this partnership was launched all of those years ago, we had no idea that it would result in such a spectacular fundraising total for such an important cause.
 
“All of our Wetherspoon staff and customers are passionate about fundraising for the charity.
 
“We look forward to raising even more money for CLIC Sargent to assist them in the wonderful work they do throughout the year.”
